Current membership of the group: Southwark Council, Bede House, Victim Support, Southwark Mediation, the Police, including the LGBT liasion officer  and the Community Wardens. 

Aim

·        To engage with agencies and/ or workers that work with and for the LGBT community in Southwark.

  Objectives, to:

• Discuss issues that affect the LGBT community (homophobia, hate crimes, same sex domestic violence, isolation etc)
• Engage with a diverse range of services that work with the LGBT community in Southwark
• Promote services
• Identify gaps in service provision
• Look at joined up working to close the gaps
• Look at possible funding opportunities
• Feedback from this forum to the Southwark Anti Homophobic Forum and other agencies
• Look at work to empower LGBT people to use services
• Encourage LGBT to report
• Continue to engage with new services
• To meet one week before the SAHF, in this way flag up any possible concerns that may come up during the SAHF meeting.
• Continue to develop this forum as required.
