For the 6th year there will be a Southwark LGBT presence on the parade for Pride on Saturday July 4th.
The day will begin with a pre Pride bucks fizz breakfast at a venue in Southwark and then people can get on board our open top double decker bus to be taken to Central London to be part of the parade.

ON THE BUSES Art Workshop: Thursday June 25th 7 - 9 pm In preparation for Pride on Saturday 4th July. Come along to this workshop. Design your own banner/ placard. Write a slogan or draw a picture. Banner, markers and paint supplied. 20 placards available.
Come along to pick some Pride goodies to help your day go well and make your own glamorous Pride stick to shake and point at the Pride crowds.

Breakfast
The breakfast will start at 8.30 at the Rye Hotel, 31 Peckham Rye SE15 3NX. Breakfasts should be pre booked beforehand. click here for booking form. The breakfast is free for people who are joining us on the parade on our bus.
Bus
After breakfast the bus will set off for central London at 9.30 am.
Parade
The bus will be in central London, on Baker St, from 10.30 till the parade starts at 1 pm. People who are joining us in central London can jump on board between those times. All places must be pre booked beforehand. The bus has limited space upstairs for people to stand (and sit) on the parade. There are a limited number of 40 places available.
Please feel free to join us from 10.30 as we will be decorating the bus during this time.
Due to Health and Safety, Pride London does not allow people to jump on and off the floats/ bus once the parade has set off.
Volunteers
So that we can have our group/ bus on the parade I am looking for four volunteers to be wheel stewards. Full training is given by Pride London. On the day this is the most important role and without the stewards, the bus will not be able to take part on the parade.
Role, to:
On the day
- You will need to be there in plenty of time before the parade begins to receive training from Pride London.
- Liaise with the float manager
- You will make sure that people remain safe. No one should be getting on/ off the float
- The parade will start at approx 1pm. The Southwark bus/ float will end approx 4 pm
- You will be given an official Pride London wheel steward t shirt that you will have to wear

outhwark Do you want to be part of a new Southwark lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) project that records short audio podcasts of local LGBT history?The project will:
- Research and document local LGBT history
- Write short scripts to be recorded
- Record audio to be podcast
- Promote the podcasts
On the project, you will:
- Learn more about the local LGBT history
- Get to meet other people interested in the project
- Learn techniques to make the project work
- Learn how to plan a project
