Established in 2002, the Southwark LGBT Network is a social and support group of LGBT people and their friends who live and work in Southwark. The Network is run by volunteers from the LGBT community and aims to create a series of safe spaces for all LGBT people in the borough.

The Network aims are, to:

Create a diverse and vibrant community

Reduce the isolation felt by LGBT people in Southwark 

Enable the LGBT community in Southwark engage effectively with other agencies


 

Southwark LGBT Network AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Southwark Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Network will take place on Tuesday 2nd March 2010 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at InSpire - The Crypt at St Peter’s Church, Liverpool Grove, SE17 2HH. 

Free food and refreshments will be served from 6.15pm.


Southwark LGBT Network has worked for eight years to build strong communities of LGBT people in Southwark.  Membership costs £1, and is open to anyone who lives, works, studies or socialises in Southwark.  At the AGM the Network will elect officers (Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) and up to 12 Executive Committee members.

Reports on the past year from the Chair and Treasurer.
Project proposals – a chance for those with ideas for projects that the Network might support to outline their plans and get feedback from members.  We hope project teams will come together and work on these projects through the year.

Business: election of officers and EC members.

Mark Healey Founder of 17-24-30 and organiser of the London Hate Crime Vigil held in Trafalgar Square on 30th October 2009.  Mark will speak about the next steps in the No To Hate campaign, including events planned for April to commemorate the London bombings of April 1999 in Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho (the Admiral Duncan).

Clare Dimyon International Pride activist.  An illustrated talk by British lesbian Clare Dimyon about her extraordinary 10,000 mile PRIDE Solidarity Tour of Central & Eastern Europe.  Last summer Clare “Pride-hopped” her way around Pride parades and other events in a dozen major cities.  Her stories will make you laugh and cry, but above all they will inspire you.  We hope she will bring some of her East European friends with her.  Not to be missed!
